If you miss the show, here are some frequently asked questions about GreenArmor.
How is GreenArmor different than what has been on the market?
GreenArmor is a polymeric flame retardant that can be used in a wide variety of applications. GreenArmor is designed to be an environmentally preferred product that does not bio-accumulate, while being a highly stable product that lends itself to efficient recycling of plastics. Because of its pelletized form, emissions to the environment during use are minimized, and when combined with the good practices driven through such programs as VECAP we can be confident that emissions are truly minimal. GreenArmor was designed to help OEM’s respond to the public’s concerns about the availability of safe products that are eco-friendly.
What is the anticipated cycle for replacement products – design, manufacturing to commercialization?
Albemarle has no plans to abandon any current products due to the introduction of GreenArmor. Our intention is for all of our flame retardant products to comply with REACH, the new European chemicals legislation. This registration is obligatory to be able to continue to put substances on the market. Registration has already occurred for most high-volume flame retardants & will be concluded by the deadline of the 1st of December.
